Itsaknockout Kentucky Derby Odds

CHURCHILL DOWNS, KY (The Spread) – After finishing fourth in the Florida Derby, Itsaknockout will look to put together a better showing at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Itsaknockout is 33/1 to win the Kentucky Derby while American Pharoah is the favorite at 9/4. Dortmund is also 9/2 to win at Churchill Downs while Carpe Diem is 7/1 and Materiality and Mubtaahij are 12/1.

Itsaknockout finished fourth in this year’s Florida Derby behind Materiality, Upstart and Ami’s Flatter. He did win the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth on February 21, beating Upstart and Frammento.

Observers weren’t impressed by Itsaknockout’s slow run in the Florida Derby, although Gulfstream ran slow in general that day. It would appear as though this horse will continue to fly under the radar leading up to post time. He drew the No. 13 post position on Wednesday, which last produced a winner in 2004 (Smarty Jones). That post position has hosted four winners in Kentucky Derby history.
