It was a race filled with plenty of lead changes, but it looked as if Scott Dixon was the one that was going to emerge as the winner. Dixon held the lead late, but couldn’t hold off a surge from Montoya in the closing laps. Montoya got the lead and then held off a charging Will Power for the victory. Montoya was as far back as 30th at one point in the race, but he battled back to the front.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Montoya came into Sunday’s race with 6/1 odds, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will payout an additional $600.
Dixon ended up finishing in fourth place, as he was passed by Power and Charlie Kimball in the closing laps. Kimball had a career-best finish at Indy by taking third. He had failed to crack the top 5 in four previous appearances.
