BETTING OVERVIEW: Trojan Nation’s dam is champion and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Strom Song. After making his first trip outside of California for the Wood Memorial Stakes, Trojan Nation finished second in his stakes debut to earn $190,000. That second-place showing gave him enough points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby Leaderboard to quality for the Derby despite not owning a victory on his resume. He would be the first maiden to win the Kentucky Derby since Brokers Tip accomplished the feat in 1933.
