Nyquist, the favorite to win at Churchill Downs entering Saturday, won the 2016 Kentucky Derby this evening.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Nyquist was a 3/1 favorite the morning of today’s race and throughout the day, then closed late to win the Kentucky Derby ahead of Exaggerator, who finished second. Exaggerator also had the next-best odds to take down Nyquist the morning of, entering Saturday with 8/1 odds to win.
