Offseason Additions:
The Clippers lost a ton of talent this offseason when Elton Brand and Corey Maggette both flew the coup for other cities. But they did add Baron Davis and Marcus Camby, who are no pushovers on the hardwood. The team essentially got Camby in a salary dump by Denver, so L.A. didn’t have to part with much.
2008-2009 Season Outlook:
Things look shaky with the loss of Brand, but things could pick up in a hurry if Davis can do for them what he did in Golden State. The only problem is that Davis isn’t a spring chicken anymore and he hasn’t had a ton of success in the postseason.
This roster is void of overall talent, but teams have won with less. If you like true long shots, the Clippers may be your team. Don’t forget, the Tampa Bay Rays were heavy long shots before the MLB season and they made it all the way to the World Series. Nobody thought they could do it, either.
