Offseason Additions:
The defending Western Conference Champions didn’t have to do too much this offseason but they did re-sign Sasha Vujacic to a new deal and also signed free agent Chinese guard Sun Yue. Vujacic didn’t play that well in the NBA Finals last year against the Boston Celtics, but he’s coming off a great shooting year on a whole.
2008-2009 Season Outlook:
This is absolutely the team to beat in the Western Conference again, if not the entire league. With good reason, many are going to say that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat after winning the NBA Finals last year. But the Lakers are stacked and will now have the opportunity to have Pau Gasol for an entire season.
Obviously Kobe Bryant is the key. But this team also needs Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum to stay healthy all year. With a couple of big men down low, Bryant will have to pick and choose his when he shoots the rock, but once again, this team is absolutely stacked and bettors should have no qualms putting cash down on this mega squad.
