Macho Again Odds
Where’s the love for Macho Again? Despite finishing second to Big Brown at the 2008 Preakness Stakes, oddsmakers are down on Macho Again heading into the 2008 Belmont Stakes. Oddsmakers from Online Sports Book Bodog have made Macho Again a long shot to win at 50/1 odds.
Bet on Macho Again in the 2008 Belmont Stakes
Once again, despite finishing second at the Preakness Stakes, Macho Again is considered a long shot at Belmont. Part of the reason might be because he has not won beyond 7 1/d furlongs. He also has finished off the board in the two graded races in which he started.
Macho Again finished first the Derby Trial on April 26 and also won a small purse at the Allowance at the Fair Grounds in late February. This is what trainer Dallas Stewart had to say following Macho Again’s second place finish at the Kentucky Derby: "I thought [Macho Again’s Belmont] was excellent," Stewart said. "He proved a lot to everybody, me included, that he can go two turns. He’s got a good feel for racing. He’s going to win some nice races, we hope. He ran well.”
There seems to be tremendous value in a horse that is given 50/1 odds despite finishing second at the Preakness Stakes. Obviously oddsmakers don’t have a lot of faith in him winning at the Belmont, but Macho Again might have some decent matchups in horse-to-horse wagers.
