Men’s 200m Dash Pick

Can anyone stop Usain Bolt from winning the gold medal in the 200-meter Dash tonight at the Rio Summer Olympics?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Bolt is the clear favorite to win, as he has -3300 odds to win. Other short odds to prevail are Andre De Grasse (+1600) and LaShawn Merritt (+2800). The men’s 200-meter dash final is set to take place tonight at 9:30PM ET from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Bet on the Rio Olympics

Bolt is the Jamaican superstar that already has won a gold in the 100-meter dash at these Olympics. He is the two-time defending Olympic champion in the 200 as well and has cruised to wins in his preliminary heats. He holds the world record in this event with a time of 19.19.

De Grasse competes for Canada. He took third in the 100-meter dash at these Olympics and was the 2015 champion at the Pan American Games. He ran with Bolt in the semifinals, but Bolt was cruising most of the way. His top time in this event is 19.80.

Merritt competes for the United States. He took bronze in the 400-meter dash at these games and is a former gold medal winner in the 400. His top time in the 200 is 19.74.

There certainly isn’t much value in betting on Bolt, but it also seems like a sure thing. Short of a stumble, Bolt should win this race with some ease. He hasn’t had to turn it on over the last 50 meters yet in this race and is still winning. Look for him to push hard for his world record, though is likely to come up short in that department.
