Copello competes for Turkey. He recently won the 2016 European Championship in this event and he comes into the Olympics with a top time of 48.46, which he set in 2015.
Perez competes for Puerto Rico. He took home the bronze medal in this event at the 2012 Olympics and also finished second at the 2009 and 2011 World Championships. His top time in the event is 47.72, which he set in 2010.
