Which cyclist will make a run to a gold medal and win the Men’s Road Race at the Rio Summer Olympics?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Alejandro Valverde is the favorite to win this event, as he has +425 odds. Other short odds to win are Vincenzo Nibali (+650) and Chris Froomer (+950). The Rio Olympics take place from August 5-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Valverde competes for Spain. He is coming off a sixth-place finish at the Tour de France and has earned the bronze medal at the 2012, 2013 and 2014 World Championships for the road race.
Nibali competes for Italy and he has won their national championship the last two years. He was fourth at the 2015 Tour de France as well.
Froome competes for Great Britain. He is coming off a third Tour de France championship last month. He has medaled at the Olympics before, finished with the bronze in 2012 for the time trial event.
