According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Mutaz Essa Barshim is favored to win, as he has +175 odds. Other short odds to prevail are Bohdan Bondarenko (+185) and Derek Drouin (+275). The Rio Olympics continue today through Aug. 21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Barshim competes for Qatar. He won the bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics in this event. He also was second in the 2013 World Championships. His top jump ever was 2.43 meters, which he set in 2014.
Bondarenko competes for the Ukraine. He is looking to win his first Olympic medal, but he was the 2013 world champ and he finished second at the 2015 World Championships. His top jump was 2.42 meters, which he set in 2014.
Drouin competes for Canada. He took third at the 2012 Olympics and has since won the 2015 World Championships. His top jump ever was 2.40 meters, which he also set in 2014.
