Serbia has won the bronze medal three times in this sport, including 2012. Their best showing was a silver in 2004. They are coming off a 2015 World Championship in Kazan.
Croatia is the defending Olympic gold medalist winner from 2012. It was their first gold. They also took silver in 1996. They finished second to Serbia in the 2015 World Championships.
Montenegro has yet to win a medal in the Olympics, placing fourth in the last two games. They finished fifth at the 2015 World Championships, but were second in 2013.
