Offseason Additions:
The Heat signed James Jones and Shaun Livingston in the offseason, but they acquired Michael Beasley and Mario Chalmers via trade through the draft.
2008-2009 Season Outlook:
It’ll be interesting to see whether or not Shawn Marion (acquired last year in the Shaq O’Neal trade) can co-exist with Michael Beasley, who both essentially play the same position. If they can, look out. Wade obviously has to stay healthy though or much like last season, this team will go nowhere.
It’s hard to assess the Heat at this point because you don’t know if Wade will bounce back fully and lift Miami to good start. This team is stacked with talent, however, so an Eastern Conference appearance or even a Finals run is definitely within reach. Consider the Heat a small sleeper and a great value play.
