Great Test For Champs
The defending champs welcome in one of the hottest Eastern clubs this evening when Head Coach Stan Van Gundy’s Orlando Magic invades San Antonio to take on Timmy Duncan and the Spurs.
Oddsmakers from Bodog have made San Antonio –5.5 point spread favorites (NBA Odds) for todays game, the over/under has been set at 189 total points (Matchup). Our public betting information shows that 59% of bets for this game have been placed on San Antonio –5.5 (View NBA Bet Percentages).
The Magic enter tonight’s contest already winners of 10 games this season, and the club seems to be firing on all cylinders right now. They followed up Sunday night’s dramatic win over Boston with another effective road effort at New Orleans that saw them drop the Hornets by a 95-88 final count Monday night. The win now has them a perfect 7-0 on the road and they’ve covered the spread in each of those contests.
San Antonio will play in Atlanta Tuesday night then fly back home to take on the magic in their 3rd back-to-back stint of the season. The Spurs are a perfect 6-0 SU at home this year, but they’ve split ATS going 3-3. Their stiffest test at home came last Friday night when they squeaked out a win over a McGrady-less Houston club by a 90-84 final count.
Free agent acquisition Rashard Lewis has put a jolt in the Magic’s offense this year as it comes into this match-up averaging 102 PPG. That being said, the defense has taken a turn for the worst (95 PPG), but seems to come up big when needed most late in the game. Orlando will be tested mightily against one of the most efficient teams in the league this evening.
San Antonio hasn’t fared well ATS in games with no rest this season as they’ve posted an 0-3 ATS mark, while the Magic have been a force with one day of rest this year posting a $$$-making 4-1 ATS mark. The defenses have stepped up the L/4 times these teams have met in San Antonio with the ‘Under’ cashing in all four games. That being said, the Magic have seen the ‘Over’ cash in 5 of their 6 games with one days rest.
Will the defenses show up once again tonight? Will the Magic continue its torrid streak, or will the Spurs defend its home court. All these questions can be answered at 8:35 ET tonight so don’t miss out.
