Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Notre Dame a 2.5-point favorite over Texas A&M on Tuesday night.
Thanks to Skylar Diggins, Notre Dame shocked UConn 72-63 on Sunday night, which ended a marvelous career for Huskie Maya Moore. It’s been ten years since the Irish last won a NCAA women’s title.
The Aggies reached the title game by beating Stanford 63-62 in dramatic fashion. A&M scored with three seconds remaining to end a back-and-forth game to set up an improbable championship that won’t feature a top seed.
Notre Dame ran through its competition rather easily, disposing of 15th-seeded Utah 67-54 in the opening round before dumping 10th-seeded Temple, 77-64. Before knocking out top-seeded Tennessee 73-59, the Irish took down sixth-seeded Oklahoma, 78-53.
A&M crushed 15th-seeded McNeese State 87-47 in the opening round before routing seventh-seeded Rutgers 70-48. The Aggies then held sixth-seeded Georgia to 38 points in a 79-38 dismantling before topping No. 1-seeded Baylor, 58-46.
Before the NCAA women’s tournament began, the field was +1,200 on the moneyline. Thus, if you bet the field, you were a winner before tipoff of the championship even began.
