Offseason Additions:
The biggest move the Hornets made this offseason was locking up superstar playmaker Chris Paul, which they did. The team reached an agreement with Paul that keeps him in a New Orleans’ uniform through 2013. The Hornets also acquired James Posey from the Boston Celtics and signed Devin Brown to add depth.
2008-2009 Season Outlook:
This team is absolutely ready to take the next step. With Paul, David West and Tyson Chandler all playing on the same court together, the Hornets have three of the NBA’s best at their respective positions. Some feel that they might still be one more player away from becoming a championship caliber team, but the additions of Posey and Brown should help more than people think.
As long as their youngsters can keep their cool with the game is on the line and learn how to finish opponents (they squandered an opportunity to knock off the Spurs last year in the playoffs), they should give the Los Angeles Lakers a run in the Western Conference.
