Public Like Bills
The Buffalo Bills look to continue their hot start when they host the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. Oddsmakers have made the Bills a 9.5-point favorite.
After a dismal performance against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football in Week 1, the Raiders bounced back last week in Kansas City, beating the Chiefs 24-8. Rookie running back Darren McFadden had an outstanding day, rushing for over 150 yards and scoring his first career touchdown. McFadden will likely see plenty of action again this week with starter Justin Fargas out with a groin injury.
The Bills are off to a fantastic start this season, beating two 2007 playoff teams in the Seahawks and Jaguars in their first two games. The Raiders don’t pose the same challenge as Seattle and Jacksonville did, but Buffalo can’t afford to take any team likely with the overall youth they have on offense. Quarterback Trent Edwards has been incredibly accurate this season, completing over 70 percent of his passes. He has yet to throw an interception this season, too.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global have made the Bills a 9.5-point favorite and the over/under total has been set at 36.5. Current public betting information shows that 73% of bettors favor Buffalo to cover the 9.5-point spread.
Even though they were victorious last weekend, the Raiders are still in turmoil as the uncertainty of head coach Lane Kiffin’s job status continues to be a mystery. Quarterback JaMarcus Russell continues to struggle in the passing game and his offensive line will have trouble stopping a solid Buffalo pass rush. We predict the Bills over the Raiders 33-13.
