Cards Big Home Favs
The Arizona Cardinals look to go 2-0 on the season when they host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Oddsmakers have made the Cardinals 6.5-point favorites in Week 2.
The Miami Dolphins are in transition this season and it might take time before they become competitive. They fell to the New York Jets last week, with Brett Favre throwing an early touchdown pass against a thin Miami defense. Quarterback Chad Pennington did play well, and he might be able to keep the team in most games.
The Arizona Cardinals started the 2008 NFL Season with a road win over division rival San Francisco last weekend. If Kurt Warner can play as well as he did in Week 1, there’s no reason why the Cards won’t start 2-0. The passing game was solid last week and Edgerrin James was very effective on the ground. The defense needs to keep improving, however, or else Arizona won’t go far this season.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Cardinals 6.5-ponit favorites. The over/under total has been set at 38 and current public betting information shows that 67% of bettors favor Arizona –6.5. The Cardinals have the better overall team and should be able to keep Pennington and the Dolphins’ offense in check. Arizona should be able to move the ball through the air on a suspect Miami secondary, too. We predict the Cardinals over the Dolphins 27-13.
Dolphins at Cardinals Game Odds, Spread & Over Under Total
Dolphins +6.5 over 39
Cardinals –6.5 under 39
