Lions Home Dogs
NFC North rivals do battle in Detroit on Sunday as the Green Bay Packers take on the Lions. Oddsmakers have made the Packers 3-point favorites in Week 2.
The Green Bay Packers had a lot of questions answered last Monday when Aaron Rodgers led the team to a win over division rival Minnesota. Rodgers performed well under the pressure of having to replace legend Brett Favre, and the Packers’ defense flustered Vikings’ quarterback Tarvaris Jackson all night. Ryan Grant might have a big game this weekend against the Lions, who allowed over 300 yards rushing to the Falcons last Sunday.
As previously mentioned, the Detroit Lions were gashed for over 300 rushing yards in a 34-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1. The Lions offense wasn’t bad, but their defense was atrocious and once they fell behind 21-0 in the first quarter, it was hard for Detroit to stick with the run. The Lions will have to do a better job this week against Green Bay, who has a balanced offensive attack.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Packers 3-point favorites. The over/under total has been set at 45.5 and current public betting information shows that 75% of bettors favor Green Bay -3. The Packers shouldn’t have much trouble running the ball against a weak Lions’ front seven. As long as Green Bay can defend the pass, it shouldn’t have much trouble earning its second win of the season. We predict the Packers over the Lions 33-20.
Packers at Lions Game Odds, Spread & Over Under Total
Packers -3 over 45.5
Lions +3 under 45.5
