Saints Road Favorites
NFC South rivals square off in New Orleans Sunday as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Saints at the SuperDome. Oddsmakers have made the Saints 3-point favorites.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will feature virtually the same team that went to the 2007 playoffs. Jeff Garcia remains the quarterback, Ernest Graham is back at tail back and the defense is always solid under coordinator Monte Kiffin. The offensive line did receive a boost with the addition of center Jeff Faine, formerly of the Saints.
Unlike the Bucs, the New Orleans Saints made several offseason changes to their roster. Jeremy Shockey was acquired via a trade with the Giants and linebacker Jonathan Vilma was acquired from the Jets. The Saints hope Shockey will add yet another dimension to an already stacked offense that features quarterback Drew Brees, running back Reggie Bush and receiver Marques Colston.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Saints 3-point favorites at home. The over under total has been set at 42.5. Current public betting information notes that 65% of bettors favor New Orleans –3. The Saints are going to be tough to defend on a fast SuperDome track, although the Bucs certainly have the defense to do it. Still, New Orleans is stacked and could be poised for a Super Bowl run. We predict the Saints over the Bucs 23-17.
Buccaneers at Saints Game Odds, Spread & Over Under Total
Buccaneers +3 over 42.5
Saints –3 under 42.5
