NFL Super Bowl 56
One more Super Bowl is behind us.
After quite a fantastic game and equally entertaining halftime performances, the Los Angeles Rams came out on top to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in a nail-biting sequence, becoming the champions after 22 years.
The number of viewers was estimated to be around 100 million, which means that if you want your commercial running in front of the 200 million American eyeballs, you would have to pay somewhere approximately $7 million.
But, apart from the financial success that this Super Bowl was, the game itself was epic, to say the least. LA made a comeback after losing one of their most important offensive players, Odell Beckham Jr., who suffered an injury on his left knee and had to leave the game during the third quarter.
The Game
Since their offence was having difficulties, other players needed to step up, and those were Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald. When Odell Beckham Jr. went down, many thought that the Rams were out of hope, but Kupp’s perfect timing and Donald’s precision were enough to get Los Angeles back on track. Coach Sean McVay’s happiness was out of this world when the final seconds passed, and a realization that he was a world champion came to him. Since 1999, the Los Angeles Rams did not have a Super Bowl win, which, after all those years, makes his achievement even sweeter.
When The Euphoria Is Over, What Is Next?
There will be some questions to be answered after the dust settles and everyone celebrates properly. Both teams’ rosters will suffer changes, but it is still to be seen in what amplitude.
They have a great quarterback duo in Brandon Allen and Joe Burrow, and it would be interesting if they could keep them in years to come, considering that they are still very young and possibly awaiting their prime years. Burow is locked in his contract until 2025, while Allen will soon become a free agent.
Of course, the NFL Draft will also significantly impact how both of the teams will calculate their off-season moves. Although both teams won’t be placed too high in the draft, one may never know if the next Tom Brady is somewhere among the college kids, waiting for the opportunity to show their skills and create a name for themselves.
The Bengals will definitely have to go back to the drawing board and try to make a comeback next year in another push to win their first Super Bowl title. Before losing to the Rams, the Cincinnati team has unfortunately lost twice to the San Francisco 49ers.
