Line moving in SD-SF game
SANTA CLARA, CA (The Spread) – The 49ers host the Chargers today in a game that will help decide San Diego’s fate in the AFC playoff picture.
With the 49ers eliminated from playoff contention in the NFC and the Chargers fighting to stay in the wild card picture in the AFC, the line for this game is moving in favor of the road team. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chargers are now only 1-point road dogs after opening as 2.5-point underdogs.
If San Diego is going to pull off a victory it’ll have to do so without a couple of key offensive players. Running back Ryan Mathews is out tonight due to an ankle injury while receiver Keenan Allen will also miss the game due to ankle and collarbone injuries.
The Chargers are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 road games but are 1-8 ATS in their last nine games overall. They’re also 1-6 against the spread in their last seven Saturday games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS loss.
