The game of the week in the NFL will be played in ‘Zona this Sunday when the 7-3 Arizona Cardinals host the 9-1 New York Giants.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Giants a –3 point spread favorite. The over/under for this game has been set at 48.5 total points.
New York is one of the best road teams in the league, if not the best. The G-Men are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games and 11-1 against the spread in their last 12 games on the road. The total has also gone under in six of the Giants’ last seven games when playing Arizona.
Even though the Cards lead the NFC West, the overall stats still favor the Giants in this matchup. New York has a slight edge in points for (29.2 to 28.9), but have a decent advantage in points against (17.0 to 22.8). Arizona has one of the most explosive passing attacks in the league, but the Giants are only allowing 175.6 yards per game and can handle the Cards’ offense.
There’s no doubt that Arizona has been outstanding this year, but they didn’t play very sharp against San Francisco two weeks ago and almost allowed the Seahawks to come back on them last Sunday. The Giants are the best team in the NFC and as previously mentioned, is outstanding on the road.
On the injury front, running back Brandon Jacobs should play, which is huge for the Giants’ outstanding running game.
