Bengals Favored
Two AFC North rivals square off in Baltimore when the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Ravens. Oddsmakers have made the Bengals 1.5-point favorites.
The Cincinnati Bengals have had trouble this offseason (what else is new), from releasing one-time stud back Rudi Johnson to Chad Johnson’s shoulder injury. But the defense has improved a bit with the selection of LB Keith Rivers in the first round of the draft and the offense is still dangerous with Carson Palmer and T.J. Houshmandzadeh running the show.
The Baltimore Ravens will start a rookie at both quarterback and running back this weekend as Joe Flacco and Ray Rice make their NFL debuts. The defense is still the strength of this team, but question marks remain along the offensive lien with the retirement of Jonathan Ogden, and the uncertainty of Flacco and Rice.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Bengals a 1.5-point favorite on the road. The over under total has been set at 38. Current public betting information says that 71% of bettors favor the Bengals –1.5. The Bengals don’t expect to be much more than a .500 team this season, but they should be able to handle two rookies starting in Baltimore’s backfield. Expect a low scoring, sloppy contest. We predict the Bengals over the Ravens 17-6.
Bengals at Ravens Game Odds, Spread & Over Under Total
Bengals –1.5 over 38
Ravens +1.5 under 38
