Offseason Additions:
After failing to lure Corey Maggette to Orlando, the Magic settled for Mickael Pietrus as their biggest offseason acquisition. Pietrus is still young at 26, but needed achange of scenery after not fully fitting in with the Warriors over the years.
2008-2009 Season Outlook:
Orlando has a solid starting five, but do they have enough bench talent to make a deep postseason run? Pietrus, Jameer Nelson, Hedo Turkoglu, Rashard Lewis and Dwight Howard is a solid starting five, but the Magic will need Anthony Johnson, J.J. Redick, Keith Bogans, Tony Battie or Adonal Foyle to step up coming off the bench.
The Magic will compete against the top tier teams in the East, but it seems like they’re one piece away from really making a deep run. But this is also a team that could have a lot of value because they’re certainly talented enough to catch fire at the right time and perhaps head to the Finals.
