According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Scott Dixon is the favorite to win this race with 9/2 odd while Will Power and Simon Pagenaud each have been given 11/2 odds. This race will take place on Sunday at Noon ET from Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Scott Dixon has a strong history at the Indianapolis 500. He is just a one time-winner, which was back in 2008. However, he has finished second on two occasions and fifth on two other occasions. He has only finished outside the top 10 four times in his 12 appearances. Dixon is on the pole for this race, and the last time he was on the pole, he won the race. Twenty different Indy 500 winners have come from the pole position, which is more than any other starting position.
Dixon currently sits fourth in the IndyCar point standings with 144 total points. His year has been somewhat hot-and-cold. He does have one win to his credit and a third-place finish, but his other three races have seen him finish 10th or worse. Dixon is a former IndyCar champion, winning the title in 2013, 2008 and 2003.
