Updated 2017 Preakness Stakes Odds
With three days remaining before the running of the 2017 Preakness Stakes, is Always Dreaming still the clear favorite?
The Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Always Dreaming has 4/5 odds to win at Pimlico, making him the hands-down favorite to win Saturday’s Preakness Stakes. Always Dreaming is coming off four consecutive victories, including the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago, as well as in the Grade 1 Florida Derby on April 1.
The Other Top Contenders
Classic Empire has the next-best odds to win the 2017 Preakness Stakes at 3/1. Irish War Cry, who was hyped the day of the Kentucky Derby before he finished a disappointing 10th, is 6/1, followed by Conquest Mo Money at 7/1. Along with Always Dreaming, these are the only contenders that don’t have double-digit odds to win Saturday’s triple crown event.
The Long Shots
Lookin At Lee finished second at Churchill Downs earlier this month and is 12/1 to win Saturday at Pimlico. Cloud Computing, Gunnevera and Hence are all 15/1, respectively, while Battle of Midway, Girvin and Multpiler are all 25/1, respectively.
The other long-shots for Saturday’s race include Lancaster Bomber, Malgacy, Practical Joke and Senior Investment, who are all 40/1, respectively. Term of Art, meanwhile, has the longest odds to win the Preakness at 50/1.
Start Time
The 2017 Preakness Stakes will take place at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore on Saturday, May 20. The race will start at 6:45PM ET and will be televised on NBC.
