Ride On Curlin Belmont Preview
ELMONT, NY (The Spread) – The 2014 Belmont Stakes is this Saturday and Ride On Curlin remains the biggest threat to California Chrome’s Triple Crown odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Ride On Curlin is 11/2 to win the Belmont this weekend, putting him behind only California Chrome (11/10) in terms of the odds. Commanding Curve and Tonalist are also 15/2 to win the Belmont, while Wicked Strong is 17/2 and Medal Count is 16/1.
Ride On Curlin is coming off a fantastic start at the Preakness Stakes, placing second behind California Chrome after finishing a disappointing seventh in the Kentucky Derby. He also finished second behind Danza in the Arkansas Derby after placing third in the Grade II Rebel Stakes on March 15.
Ride On Curlin’s pedigree includes Curlin, who finished second in the 2007 Belmont Stakes after placing third in the Kentucky Derby and winning the Preakness Stakes that same year. Fatigue could become an issue for Ride On Curlin, but heading into this Saturday’s race he still offers bettors the best bet behind California Chrome. And seeing as how it’s been since 1978 since we last saw a Triple Crown winner, odds are that we’ll see someone else win this weekend besides California Chrome. Why not Ride On Curlin?
The 2014 Belmont Stakes is set for 6:30PM ET this Saturday from Elmont, New York.
