Women’s 200m Backstroke Rio Odds
The Women’s 200-meter Backstroke at the Rio Summer Olympics looks to be a battle between Aussies. Here’s a look at the odds for the race.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Emily Seebohm is the favorite to win this race, as she has -110 odds. Other short odds to win are Belinda Hocking (+275), Katinka Hosszu (+400) and Missy Franklin (+475). The Rio Olympics take place from August 5-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Seebohm competes for Australia. While she has won two gold medals in relay events at past Olympics, she is seeking her first individual gold. She is the 2015 World Championship winner in the 200m backstroke.
Hocking also competes for Australia. She has finished in second in this event at the 2011 and 2013 World Championships. She also won the gold in this distance at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Hosszu competes for Hungary. She has won a number of World Championships in medley events and also won the 2014 Short Course World Championship in this event. She just recently won the European Championship in the 200m backstroke.
Franklin competes for the United States. She was the gold medal in this event at the 2012 Olympics and also was the 2011 and 2013 World Champion. She took second at the 2015 World Championships.
