Men’s Rugby Olympic Odds
The physical sport of Men’s Rugby looks to have a real competitive battle for the gold medal at the Rio Summer Olympics. Here’s a look at the odds to win.
Rugby is making its first appearance at the Olympics since 1924. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Fiji is favored to win the gold, as it is getting odds of +210 to win. Other short odds to win are New Zealand (+250) and South Africa (+300). The Rio Olympics take place from August 5-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Fiji hasn’t had great success on the world stage since 2007, when it reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup. It hasn’t made it out of pool play in the last two World Cup events. They are currently only ranked 10th in the World.
New Zealand is ranked No. 1 in the World Rugby rankings by a wide margin. They have also won the last two World Cup titles.
South Africa is ranked third in the World Rankings right now. They have played in six World Cups, winning the championships in 1995 and 2007.
