Ledecky has won three gold medals at this Olympics already, claiming the win in the 200 and 400 freestyle, as well as the 4×200 freestyle. She also is the defending Olympic champion in the 800 freestyle. She also won the 800 in the 2015 World Championship.
Ashwood competes for Australia. She has yet to win a gold medal in her career, but she did compete in this event at the 2012 Olympics. Boyle also competes for New Zealand. She is seeking her first Olympic medal in this event, but finished second to Ledecky at the 2015 World Championships.
In these Olympics, Ledecky has established herself to be a superstar. She has been absolutely blazing in the pool. In the successful relay, she made up a whole second deficit over the final leg to win with ease. It’s hard to see anyone competing with her right now.
