Offseason Additions:
The Kings parted with Ron Artest in exchange for Donte Greene and a future first round draft pick. And while Artest was a distraction at times, he also played well and was certainly more mild-mannered in Sacramento than in previous stops.
2008-2009 Season Outlook:
The Kings are a bubble team for the playoffs. They certainly have added some pieces over the years and parted with aging vets like Artest, but do they have enough to make a postseason run this year or are they still a couple of years away from competing again?
Kevin Martin will continue to be the team’s centerpiece this year, but Sacramento needs Green, Beno Udrih, Spencer Hawes, Jason Thompson or Shelden Williams to step up and develop into star for them to go anywhere. There’s a lot to like about the Kings future.
