USF Season Odds
The South Florida Bulls were one of the most surprising teams in 2007. But oddsmakers have made USF a 75/1 long shot to win the 2009 BCS National Championship.
Bet South Florida’s 2009 BCS Championship Futures Odds
The Bulls will have their main offensive weapon back for another season in quarterback Matt Grothe. Grothe threw for 2,670 yards and ran for 872 yards in a breakout 2007 season. He’ll get receiver Carlton Mitchell (537 yards) back in his arsenal. Linebacker Tyrone McKenzie (121 tackles), George Selvie (14.5 sacks) and safety Nate Allen (four interceptions) return on defense.
South Florida is a long shot at all the major online sports books. Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog and Sportsbook.com have made the Bulls a 75/1 long shot to win the BCS National Championship this season, while SBG Global lists them at 30/1.
With Matt Grothe back under center and the return of some key defenders, head coach Jim Leavitt’s team could potentially surprise again in 2008. The Bulls stumbled after such a great start in 2007, so Leavitt will have to keep his team focused throughout. Watch for George Selvie to cause some havoc again this year and for USF to be one of the top dogs in the Big East.
