According to oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com, Werdum had a betting line of +525 to win the fight, meaning at $100 bet on Werdum will pay out an additional $525.
Emelianenko had not lost a fight since 2000 and had never been submitted in his career, yet Werdum managed to catch Fedor in an armbar triangle, which forced a tap from Fedor just 1:09 into the fight. This upset may go down as the biggest in MMA history, but will make anyone that bet on Werdum a very happy person.
In the co-main event, Cris Santos dismantled Jan Finney with a second round KO. Moments into this women’s featherweight championship, it was clear that Santos was the far superior fighter. Finney did all she could to survive one round, but Santos didn’t let it go much further, swarming on Finney quickly in the second to end the fight.
