T20 World Cup Betting Preview
The T20 World Cup in cricket will be one of the major sporting tournaments taking place in 2021 and it is an event which will attract a lot of interest for sports bettors.
We’ve taken a look at the tournament and come up with some good ante-post bets to place ahead of the competition in India
England Have All The Right Tools To Land Trophy
Unlike longer formats of the game, T20 cricket is all about explosive players who can win matches with individual performances. England are stacked with players who fit that bill, which is why they have had so much success over the last couple of years.
England have a lot of depth at the top end of their batting line-up. Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow have consistently scored a lot of runs at a fast pace in T20 cricket. At the moment, the team does not even include Alex Hales, one of the stars of the 2020/21 Big Bash.
The 2019 Cricket World Cup winners also have a very dangerous weapon with the ball in Jofra Archer. He held his nerve in that tournament two years ago in the Super Over to help England to the trophy. The fast pacer loves the big occasion and he will lead their bowling attack in India.
England are +450 in the cricket betting to win T20 World Cup for a second time. They prevailed in 2010 and this team is much better than the one which came out on top 11 years ago.
West Indies Can Never Be Underestimated In This Format
If it’s a team at a much bigger price that you are looking for in the T20 World Cp this year, West Indies look good value at +900. They have won the tournament more than any other nation, with victories coming in 2012 and 2016.
Many of the West Indies national team now specialise in T20 cricket. Players like Chris Gayle play in the lucrative franchise leagues such as the Indian Premier League. This has meant their Test form has suffered, but in the T20 format, they can be a match for anyone.
The last time this tournament took place, it was also in India. West Indies handled the conditions really well. They defeated England in the final by four wickets. Their squad is not too different from the one which participated five years ago.
West Indies have always scored really heavily in one-day cricket. They now have a bowling attack that can do damage and Jason Holder, Obed McCoy and Fabian Alllen are all players to look out for in India.
In their recent series against Sri Lanka, West Indies came out on top 2-1. It looks as though they have been underestimated by the bookmakers in the outright market. Don’t be surprised if they brought up a hat-trick of wins.
This year’s T20 World Cup begins in October, with the final scheduled to take place on November 14. A total of 16 teams are set to participate, with 45 matches to be played before a nation lifts the trophy. We can now only wait to see the outcome.
