Bet Texas Tech’s 2009 BCS Championship Futures Odds
Texas Tech has some fantastic talent returning on offense. Quarterback Graham Harrell (5,705 passing yards) and receiver Michael Crabtree (1,962 receiving yards) are both Heisman Trophy candidates, while Edward Britton should get some major looks in the passing game as well. Linebacker Marlon Williams (81 tackles), defensive end Brandon Williams (six sacks) and corner Jamar Wall (five interceptions) all return on defense.
Every major online sports book has established Texas Tech as a long shot. Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog and Sportsbook.com have made the Red Raiders a 40/1 long shot to win the BCS National Championship, while SBG Global has them at 50/1.
Outside of losing receiver Danny Amendola, the Red Raiders return all of their starters on offense. Crabtree was amazing as a freshmen and Harrell should be poised for another stellar year in Texas Tech’s high-powered offense. The Red Raiders truly have one of the best offenses in the nation and if they can hold their own against top competition in the Big 12, there’s no reason to believe they can’t sniff a BCS National Championship appearance, although they do remain a long shot.
