NFL Free Pick: SEA/DAL
In the second of three Thanksgiving Day games, the Seattle Seahawks travel to the Big D to take on Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Cowboys –12 point spread favorite. The over/under for this game has been set at 46.5 total points.
The Cowboys absolutely own this matchup from top to bottom. Dallas has averaged more points (24.1 to 18.8) and have surrendered less points a game (22.8 to 25.8). Not only that, but offensively the ‘Boys average more passing yards (236.1 to 140.4) and more rushing yards (112.1 to 111.1) a game. Dallas has yielded less passing yards defensively (197.2 to 259.2), as well as less yards on the ground (97.4 to 122.0).
The Cowboys are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games when playing Seattle, while the Seahawks are just 4-7-1 against the spread in their last 12 games. The total has also gone over in five of Seattle’s last seven games on the road.
Both teams got a boost at quarterback the past two weeks when the Seahawks welcomed back Matt Hasselbeck and Romo returned for the Cowboys. While Seattle did play well against Washington last Sunday, they’re definitely a different team on the road than they are at home and Dallas’ offense looked back on track last week against San Fran. The Seahawks just don’t have the defense to hold the potent Cowboys’ offense in check for four quarters.
