Best Picture Oscars Prediction

Will The Revenant take home the Oscar tonight at 8:00PM ET for Best Picture at the 88th Academy Awards?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, The Revenant is the current favorite to win for Best Picture at -300. Spotlight has the next best odds at +250, while The Big Short is 5/1. The Martian, Mad Max: Fury Road and Room are 100/1, respectively, while the Bridge of Spies is 150/1 and Brooklyn is 200/1.

The Revenant, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter, took home three awards at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards. It won for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director and Best Actor – Drama.

While Spotlight is certainly in the running, The Revenant seems like a homerun to win Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards. Back in January the film received 12 Academy Award nominations, which were more than any other film that will be showcased tonight. Although there’s not much value in laying -300 on the money line, The Revenant should take home the Oscar for Best Picture.
