Top 5 Tips for Betting Euro 2016
Soccer always has a habit of throwing up a surprise win for a team that has been tipped as having no chance. This is especially true in EURO 2016, as each team fights its way for that coveted Henri Delaunay Trophy.
It may seem like ages away but with only two months left until the opening match, now is a great time to get some early bets on and get some early prices. These online bookmakers at football-bookmakers.com offer some really great odds, so it’s worth shopping around before you place your bets.
For now The Spread has done a bit of digging around for our best outright tips for the EURO 2016 matches and is passing these on to you guys.
France (Best Odds: 7/2 from Paddy Power)
With France hosting the final stage of the UEFA Tournament, it is a little surprising that we found odds of 7/2 for them to lift the cup. They have an excellent record of winning home matches and have taken the title twice with a 100% strike rate of playing in the final so 7/2 odds is pretty good at the moment.
England (Best Odds: 9/1 from Paddy Power)
England doesn’t have a great record in the EURO tournaments and has never played in a final, so we actually think 9/1 is being quite generous. The squad is young and may throw up an unlikely surprise so they are definitely one to watch closely. On their good days England is very good. Unfortunately for them, it’s finding those good days that’s key.
Spain (Best Odd: 6/1 from SportingBet)
The odds on Spain surprised us a little bit. They are triple winners of the cup, have played in four finals and were runner-up once. They also currently hold the title for 2012 and 2008. Can they do it a third time? They will be the first team to do so if they do, which could possibly be why the 6/1 seems pretty steep (not that we are complaining). They are definitely worth a bet with odds like this.
Germany (Best Odds: 7/2 from SkyBet)
Out of all of the qualifying teams, Germany has the best record for wins and runner-up prizes. They have played in no less than six finals and have a 50% strike rate for wins. Germany is renowned for being a team led by its forwards and when firing on all cylinders, it could have an excellent shot at winning it all. The only negative against Germany is that it hasn’t won the title since 1996, a full 20 years ago when it won against the Czech Republic in London.
Belgium (Best Odds: 10/1 from StanJames)
It’s a little surprising that Belgium has been listed in the top 5 for betting odds. They have only managed to get into the final once and have never won the title. The last time they reached the final was in 1980. Perhaps one to store and cheer along, although 10/1 offers better value for money than England, who has yet to appear in a final. What Belgium does have going for itself is it currently ranks #1 in the Fifa World Rankings with over *1500 points for the current season. This team is one to watch.
