Offseason Additions:
Obviously the biggest move the Raptors made this offseason was acquiring one-time All-Star center Jermaine O’Neal for guard T.J. Ford. Toronto essentially traded depth at point guard for a true big man and if O’Neal can stay healthy, this could be a great trade.
2008-2009 Season Outlook:
The Raptors’ starting five of O’Neal, Jose Calderon, Anthony Parker, Chris Bosh and Jamario Moon is solid. But are they ready to take the next step? This is a talented group, but it’s all about gelling as a unit and staying healthy.
This team should make the playoffs, but playing in the same division as the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers will be no treat. But if the Raptors prove they have the mental fortitude, than skies the limit for this talented bunch.
