Updated Tour de France Odds
The first leg of the Tour de France is in the books. Here’s a look at the odds to win entering Stage 2 on Sunday.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Chris Froome remains the favorite, as he has +130 odds to take this year’s championship. Other short odds to win are Nairo Quintana (+160) and Alberto Contador (+800). Stage 2 is a 113.7-mile, hilly trek from Saint-Lo to Cherbourg-Octeville and takes place early Sunday morning.
The first stage saw Mark Cavendish of Great Britain take the yellow jersey, completing the 117-mile course in 4:14:05. He finished four seconds ahead of the field. Cavendish is not listed with odds to win the whole Tour, but has +8000 odds to win Stage 2.
Froome, also of Britain, sits 25th after the first stage, just seconds out of first. He is listed with +6600 odds to win Stage 2, a similar course to Stage 1.
Quintana was right behind Froome in Stage 1, placing 30th. Contador finished 86th in Stage 1, but wasn’t far off in time.
Peter Sagan is a +350 favorite to take Stage 2 on Sunday. Sagan finished third during Saturday’s opening round.
