Can Reigns win the Rumble?

The WWE is set to put on its annual classic, the Royal Rumble, this Sunday. Here’s a look at the odds for the winner of the big battle.

View Real-Time Sports Betting Odds

The Royal Rumble is an annual match in the WWE where 30 men compete. The match begins with two entrants and every 90 seconds to 2 minutes, another participant enters until 30 men have competed. A participant is eliminated by being thrown over the top rope with both feet hitting the floor. This year’s match has even more intrigue as the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be awarded to the winner.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Triple H is the favorite to win the Rumble, as he is getting a money line of +115 to prevail. The other short odds to win are Roman Reigns (+180) and Brock Lesnar (+300).

Reigns is the current champion that is the new “defying authority” fan favorite. He is being forced into defending his belt in the match and will start in the No. 1 spot, which in “reality” seems like a long shot to win. Triple H is favored due to Reigns attacking him months ago and putting him on the shelf with promises of an unexpected return in the future. A likely scenario sees Triple H enter late in the match and “steal” the win from Reigns to set up a match at Wrestlemania in a few months. It’s also possible Reigns could win the match and then be forced into a sudden 1-on-1 with Triple H to lose his belt, so betting on Reigns may not be out of the question. Lesnar is a favorite as well due to his dominant booking by the WWE, but it’s not likely he would be given the title due to his limited work schedule.
