UEFA Europa League Title Odds to Win
Despite winning the title each of the last two years, Sevilla is not currently favored to win the UEFA Europa League championship in 2016.
According to UK based online betting site Sport.NetBet.co.uk, Borussia Dortmund is currently 9/2 to win the Europa League championship this year. Sevilla, the title winner from each of the last two years, has the next best odds at 8/1.
Continuing with the odds, Tottenham is 11/1 while Liverpool and Manchester United are both 12/1, respectively. Villarreal and Lazio are also 13/1, respectively, while Bayler Leverkusen is 14/1 and Athletic Bilbao, Valencia, Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR) and Fenerbahce are all 16/1, respectively.
The current long shots to win the UEFA Europa League title this year are Basel and SC Braga at 36/1, respectively, and Sparta Prague and Anderlecht at 41/1, respectively.
Sevilla has the most UEFA Europa League titles at four, with victories coming in 2006, 2007, 2014 and 2015. Chelsea won in 2013 while Atletico Madrid won in both 2012 and 2010.
For the second year in a row, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is Borussia Dortmund’s leading goal-scorer. The 26-year-old forward has had a fantastic year after inking a new contract in July of 2015 that will last until 2020. Noted Aubameyang after signing the new deal, “Every part of me wants to be here and I have never wanted to leave.”
Perhaps Aubameyang will bring home a UEFA Europa League title soon enough.
