Two teams heading in opposite directions clash at Ford Field in a traditional Thanksgiving Day Game when the Detroit Lions host the 10-1 Tennessee Titans.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Titans a –11 point spread favorite. The over/under for this game has been set at 44 total points.
While the Lions remain winless on the season, the team to focus on in this matchup is the Tennessee Titans, who are coming off their first loss of the season. Not only did they look bad in their first defeat, they also enter this game coming off a short week. Another thing to consider is that the Titans got away from their running game last week, which had been a stable of their offense up to that point. Expect them to get back to running the football against a poor Lions’ run defense, which could keep the scoring low and the game tight.
The Lions are 4-2 against the spread in its last six games when playing Tennessee. They’ve also kept things fairly close in most of their games this season, and it’s nice that the point spread is at 11, which obviously means that the Titans have to win by two touchdowns or a touchdown and three field goals. It’s a funky point spread and while the Titans are 9-1-1 against the spread this year, last week’s loss could be an indication that they’re going to start taking a step back. Expect a Tennessee victory, but a Detroit cover.
