Offseason Additions:
Washington welcomed back Arenas with a six-year, $111 million contract, which means the team kept its core intact. He’s had issues with knee injuries in the past, but it was a risk worth taking.
2008-2009 Season Outlook:
The Wizards should have no issues making the playoffs with Arenas, Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison back for another season. But how far will they go is the question. This team has had issues getting out of the first couple rounds of the playoffs and they haven’t added much.
Washington does play in the East, however, so if they can catch fire in the postseason, things might happen. But they might need to add another piece or their ceiling could be very limited.
