Winter Olympics Predictions: Who will win the Women’s Giant Slalom? 2/11/18

Winter Olympics Predictions: Who will win the Women’s Giant Slalom? 2/11/18 Winter Olympics Predictions: Who will win the Women’s Giant Slalom? 2/11/18

Women’s Giant Slalom Pick

The gold will be decided in the Women’s Giant Slalom early on Monday morning. Which skier will come away with the top honor at the 2018 Winter Olympics?

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Mikaela Shiffrin is favored to win, as she has +175 odds to prevail. Other short odds to win are Viktoria Rebensburg (+230) and Tessa Worley (+400).

Bet on Winter Olympics Odds

Shiffrin is an American that won the gold medal in the 2014 Olympics in the slalom while finishing fifth in the giant slalom. She has also won the last three World Championships in slalom while finishing second in the 2017 World Championships in GS.

Rebensburg is a German skier that has competed in the last two Olympics. She won gold in the giant slalom in 2010 and bronze in 2014. She also finished second at the 2015 World Championships in the GS.

Worley is a French skier. She competed in the 2010 Olympics, placing 16th in the GS, but was injured for the 2014 games. She has won the World Championship in this event in 2013 and 2017 while placing third in 2011.

When it comes to picking the winner, Worley is the one that stands out to me. While Shiffrin has had a lot of success in slalom, it hasn’t translated to championships in GS. Rebensburg seems to have her best days behind her, while Worley has a lot of motivation with being injured in the 2014 games. Sofia Goggia, who finished third at the 2017 World Championships, is a nice dark horse consideration at +2000 odds.

WINTER OLYMPICS PREDICTION: TESSA WORLEY +400
