Women’s 100m Butterfly Rio Odds
A pair of US swimmers will be chasing down a Swede when it comes to the Women’s 100-meter Butterfly at the Rio Olympics.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Sarah Sjostrom is the clear favorite to win, as she has -2000 odds. Other short odds to win are Americans Kelsi Worrell (+1100) and Dana Vollmer (+1200). The Rio Olympics take place from August 5-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Sjostrom competes for Sweden. She placed fourth in this event at the 2012 Olympics but has went on to win the 2013 and 2015 long course World Championships and 2014 short course World Championship in this event. Her top time in the 100-meter butterfly is 55.64, which is a world record.
Worrell is competing in her first Olympic Games. She won the 2015 Pan American Games in this event and also won the U.S. Olympic Trials in the butterfly.
Vollmer competes for the U.S. and is the 2012 gold medal winner in this event. She made her first Olympic Games back in 2004. She also owns the 2011 World Championship and was third at the 2013 World Championship. Her top time is 55.98, which is the American record.
