Women’s 400m Medley Rio Odds
The Women’s 400-meter Individual Medley has a clear favorite to win gold at the Rio Olympics. Just how lopsided are the odds?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Katinka Hosszu is the clear favorite, as she has -750 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Maya DiRado (+700), Hannah Miley (+1400) and Emily Overholt (+1400). The Rio Olympics take place from August 5-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Hosszu competes for Hungary. She finished fourth at the 2012 Olympics in this event, but has since won the 2013 and 2015 World Championship in this event. She owns the short course world record in this swim with a time of 4:19.46.
DiRado competes for the United States. She is set to compete in the Olympics for the first time. She placed second in this event at the 2015 World Championships, losing to Hosszu.
Miley competes for Great Britain. She has competed in the last two Olympics and placed fifth in this event at the 2012 games. She placed second in this event as well at the 2011 World Championships. Her top time on the long course is 4:31.33.
Overholt competes for Canada. She is set to compete in her first Olympics Games in Rio. She recently took third at the 2015 World Championships in this event.
