Rugby is making its first appearance at the Olympics since 1924. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Australia is favored to win the gold, as the Aussies are getting odds of -125 to win. Other short odds to win are New Zealand (+175) and Canada (+800). The Rio Olympics take place from August 5-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Australia has competed in the last five World Cup events, starting in 1998. Their best finish was third in 2010. They finished seventh at the 2014 World Cup.
New Zealand has competed in the last seven World Cups, starting in 1991. They won four World Cup titles from 1998-2010 but came in fifth at the 2014 games.
Canada has competed in the last seven World Cups, starting in 1991 as well. The Canadians had their best finish at the 2014 competition, placing runner-up to England.
