We’ve put together our Cross-Sport Parlay Prediction for Friday night, which includes games from the NHL, NBA and college football. Read on to see why we like the Golden Knights, as well as a couple of overs in the other sports.
Friday Cross-Sport Parlay Prediction: San Diego State over 33.5 Points, 10:30 p.m. ET
New Mexico, San Diego State’s opponent tonight, is terrible defensively. The Lobos rank 133rd in defensive efficiency in ESPN’s FPI metric. The Aztecs are hardly the Greatest Show on Turf. That said, the Lobos have allowed at least 37 points in every game this season except one – a 17-6 loss at Colorado State a few weeks ago.
Thus, I like the over on the Aztecs’ team total. I’m taking a small leap of faith that San Diego State will score at least 34 points, as the Aztecs haven’t gotten over that number since Week 1. That said, the Aztecs have scored at least 24 points in their last four games and that came against much tougher defenses – Boise State and Washington State, for example – than the one they’ll face tonight.
Friday Cross-Sport Parlay Prediction: Vegas Golden Knights -137, 10:00 p.m. ET
The Golden Knights are off to an excellent start this season, posting a 9-3-1 record in their first 13 games. They’ve been on a roll too, winning six out of their last seven games entering play tonight. That includes a 4-2 victory over the Oilers as a +143 moneyline underdog in their last game.
Vegas has also owned its opponent on Friday night, the Seattle Kraken. The Golden Knights have won back-to-back games versus the Kraken dating back to last season and have five victories versus Seattle in the last six meetings between these two teams.
Have I mentioned that Seattle is struggling entering play tonight? The Kraken have dropped four straight games and seven out of their last eight. Their lone victory over that span came in Montreal as a -170 moneyline favorite. Otherwise, the Kraken have really struggled.
Friday Cross-Sport Parlay Prediction: Pelicans-Magic over 213, 7:00 p.m. ET
These two teams have been cashing the over consistently to start the season. They both have identical 6-3 records to the over. If we narrow the focus, the over has cashed in three out of the Pelicans’ last four games as their defense has struggled. On the other side, the over has only hit twice in the Magic’s last four games, but it did hit in Orlando’s 118-111 loss to Indiana two nights ago.
The over has also been profitable in previous meetings between these two teams. In the last 10 Magic-Pelicans matchups, the over is 8-2. In these teams’ four meetings a year ago, the over hit three times. Expect bad defense again tonight.
